The Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative held the 2016 KGSC Annual Conference on April 15th at the East Kentucky Science Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The event featured several prominent Kentucky women in STEM careers, including Melinda Curless, a STEM Initiatives Consultant with the KY Dept. of Education, as well as Tracie Prater, an Aerospace Engineer at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

In the afternoon, students and adults were divided to attend separate sessions. Students enjoyed “Phun Physics” and Robotics workshops, as well as a show in the East Kentucky Science Center Planetarium. Adults attended a variety of presentations from STEM leaders across the commonwealth, including the Challenge Center of Hazard, 4-H, Big Sandy Community & Technical College, East Kentucky Science Center, UPike, and Million Women Mentors.

KGSC would like to thank all those who helped make this year’s conference so great, especially the staff of the East Kentucky Science Center.
