What is a Mini-Grant?

Mini-grants for conferences are awarded to businesses, programs and organizations who leverage collaboration and exemplary practices to organize and orchestrate conferences aimed at STEM-education leaders, guardians and others who support girl-serving, STEM focused programs.

Mini-grants are a small amount of seed funding and are not intended to fully fund high-impact or multi-day conference models. KGSC offers financial support between $1,500 and $2,500 for conferences. The final awarded amount from KGSC will be based on the sample budget and programming details provided in the proposal.

Why provide Mini-Grants?

Numerous organizations provide valuable but uncoordinated activities and support services related to motivating and supporting girls’ interest in STEM careers. Mini-grants for Conferences are designed to build programs through collaboration to build participants’ networks, host forums, and disseminate resources and exemplary practices of existing programs and organizations that encourage girls to pursue STEM-related applications.

Event programs that are innovative and rely on collaboration will be closely considered.
